Letia Frandina

Letia Frandina is a founder and Board member of the Downtown Denver Expeditionary School in 2011. She earned her doctorate in communication studies from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Her research and professional background is invested in inclusive community building and public spaces. She ran a start-up community space and business for families, Little Closets, featured in New York Magazine, before returning to her home state of Colorado. She is a first generation college graduate of Colorado State University, an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland and a mentor at Denver Kids Inc. She is also a graduate of the 2015 Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership class. Letia lives with her family in downtown Denver.  She believes strongly in Expeditionary Learning to foster a student-centered, character-driven, and community-focused education for all four of her children.
